About Old Love

I'm pretty stoned as I write this, but its an interesting story, its one of my stories. The story of my first love.

This goes way back to kindergarten. Alot about kindergarten is a blur or I have no recollection of. But the memory of her back then, that I can't forget. I'm not sure when I first saw her nor how did friends and family know about my crush on her.  But it happened, people would tease and what not. Being a 6 year old boy you would deny everything, even if it was true.

Primary school... she was still around and mind you I have never spoken to her at all. Primary school I was trying to impress her, I don't know why but I always felt like everyone was look at my every action like the Truman Show. So when I was nine years old if I'm not mistaken I was walking down the stairs and knowing that I was walking past her class, acted all cool and walked down. Unfortunately I missed a step and fell. Luckily I didnt fall forward but on my bum. But I kept falling down the steps, like butt, butt, butt.

Quickly got up (thank god no one saw me) and walked away all macho. But I was in a shit lot of pain, I had cut myself on by back on a few places. Just the scratches, not bad enough to bleed or draw blood. But it hurt like hell when my shirt touched the cuts. Still remember calling my aunt to come pick me up because I was in a lot of pain.

That was also the same year that she was selected to take this one test that would let you skip a grade. As much of a dick as it may seem, I really didnt want her to pass that test. I didn't want to see her go. She passed the test but decided not to skip a grade but rather to continue on as per normal. Not much after that. Till the awesomeness of end of the school year when I was ten years old.

The school year was over, it was the last day of class. Our names had been put up for the following years class arrangements. And we were supposed to be the same class, as classmates; for the first time ever we were to be in the same class. This was my opportunity, my chance to say 'Hi', to be friends... thats as far as I thought then, was a bit of a good boy. I can say though, I didn't know how I was gonna approach her.

Two months of school holidays came and went, had an awesome holiday doing whatever it is 10 year old Navin was doing back then and was not the least bit upset the holidays were over. Not upset because it gave me a chance to see her, I will be seeing her everyday for the rest of this new schooling year.

So I went in class, with the swagger only a little boy in love could have and took his place. Patiently waited as my new classmates decided where they wanted to sit or with whom they wanted to sit with. Eagerly peering at the door at every new person entering the classroom expecting her to make her appearance, to take her seat. But it didn't happen, the teacher came in and began class. I presumed that maybe she is sick or maybe even still on vacation and will be back in school later in the week.

I patiently waited for the rest of the week. The following week came and I decided to ask a friend of hers only to find out that she had migrated to the United States as her mum got married to an American. That was shit. Complete and utter shit. With no contact from her, no details she was gone, just a memory that I would just look back and cringe.

Years past and I got over it. Got into my first relationship a few year later and ended that. Fun times, all messy and extremely regrettable. Well, one night when I was 15 years old, I get a Facebook message from an old kindergarten friend, asking me if I remembered this girl from our kindergarten. He gave the description and told me where she was now, I immediately blew a fuse, can it be her? Am I getting a second chance? Even with the distance why not? Could this be it?

So basically she was trying to reconnect with everyone from kindergarten and primary school that she was friends with. I wasn't exactly friends with her but I... errr... knew her hehe. Well I added her on Facebook and sent her a personal message just to reassure her that I'm not a weirdo adding her (when I kinda was) and was infact someone from her kindergarten.

She accepted! We started catching up and taking, hell we would talk every bloody day, MSN and Facebook. The good old days, it was going well, I finally was getting to know her and she was planning on coming down to Malaysia to visit her grandmother. This gave me a chance to take her out, maybe even a date.

Sadly as we got to know each other better, I started to realize that we weren't compatible for each other, that we were worlds apart and that there wasn't much hope for anything other than to be friends with her. But how could you? This is the first person you had feeling / fell for / or whatever you want to call it. We drifted apart and one day we were no longer friends on Facebook. I'm not even sure if I deleted her or she deleted me.

This story is the very definition on how sad my love life is. And yes all of it is true

Drives & Music

First of, Happy Wesak Day to all my Buddhist buddies and readers (if there even readers)

so today was a public holiday and a Tuesday. Didn't make the day any different. Woke up at around 1 in the noon. This is because of my sleep cycle being screwed, I usually sleep like at 4 or 5 AM. So woke up watched some tv.

Went for a drive to get my mind off things. I found some really peaceful places in Bangsar to just gather my thoughts. It felt great I guess. But when I met up with some friends at the basketball, when I met up with civilization again, I felt somewhat lost and unhappy.

This is hitting me harder than I expected. I need to get it over with. I'm not too sure what the hell am I fearing. Just thinking about it makes me realize how pathetic I am.

It's 3.47AM now, all that is keeping me calm now are these

Questions has always been there for me. It is the perfect song to calm down to.

Long Ago

Agreed, I have been neglecting my blog yet again. Lot of things in my hands.. or at least it feels like that.

Shit, I'm just looking forward to June. I just looking forward of ending my Diploma. I can't stand everything that is going on with these people. Way too much drama man.

Over the break I was back working in Chilli's and met some really awesome people. One of em thought me about patience. I've never seen him upset and or angry unless its something really close to his heart.

The next two months that is pretty much what I'll be doing. Mask on yo!

It's upsetting that how we once used to all good friends and now there is a cold war. There are walls, there are restrictions, there are people acting indifferent to what has happened. There are people who have changed all together. All six terms there were drama but the last three terms is where all of the dramas come from.

Listening to some mashups. And I loik!!

Muse vs Pendulum... it fits really well

This vid is like when you are out having an awesome club party or something... sheet!! I wanna go for a pendulum concert!

Guilt

It was immature, it was stupid and I should have know better. I shouldn't done it no matter what the reason. I want to start a new year with a new me. I don't want to destroy my resolution so early in the year... it's not even been a month yet.

To believe,
To be strong,
To outgrow it

As of Monday, shit's gonna really hit the fan. Classroom occupancy will be at full house or at 99% capacity. Noise factors and gossip factors are going to go through the roof. I'll just have to do what I do best.

Got really frustrated today, our restaurant professional activity seemed to be going in circles with each director making child-like errors and decisions. With abit of the fickle mindedness with really ticked me off. But whats the point of getting all worked up for this huh?

Only people I feel soo relaxed with are Ainin, Jeng & You (you know who you are).

I went yumcha with Ainin and KaJeng a few nights back and it was really fun to catch up with them. It's been quite some time since I met them. I was just thinking, other than Mark; these two people are my only friends from high school. That are my age that is. The rest have "disappeared" from my life.

Note to self... deleted useless people from facebook

Front Office

Yes it's been ages yet again. Partly coz I'm lazy and due to down age of internet. So finally back to blogging;

So am still loving it at the front office. I am seriously considering majoring in front office later on.

I really had fun with some of my guest. I mean really had fun. For example

Mr. Ivan & Ms. Penny;

I have to say I really enjoy this couple. They were soo friendly and pretty much always in the mood to talk. My point of view with the front office it's hard to find easy to talk to guests like them. What was really an ice breaker was teaching them how to use their brand spanking new DSLR.

Reason for the DSLR is because Ms. Penny is expecting a little one soon. DSLR + baby = really nice pictures.

Miss them, due to the fact I havent found any other guest I can talk to like I talked to them.

Ms. Asther, Family & Friends;

My first guest with I had a relationship with. All thanks to Casey for assigning me to them. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed the work. Helping them in any way I could.

I just felt somewhat helpless as I couldnt help Mr. Francis look for his beloved G9. I googled it and damn its a nice camera. Soo old school.

This is baby Haley; Mr Francis & Ms Asther's lil' bundle of joy

Ms Sarah & Mr Matthew;

I still remember Mr Matt saying to me;

if you're ever down at UK, gimme a ring, you ain't staying at no hotel, you're stayin with us. And if you don't I'll hunt you down

Australians who live at UK. He's a City supporter... Ergh.

Lastly, my Front office manager, Mr Shahrul, he left PLR yesterday to work for Airasia. Awesome guy, I never actually shed a tear for someone in the industry before this. Only worked under him for less than a month but he meant alot. He didn't act like a manager.

He acted like a friend, brother, father & a teacher.

Railings & Drains

Just when I thought things are gonna get better here, someone takes a frying pan and smacks me in the face.

Yesterday after getting to play futsal for the first time on the resort and after dinner; Leon and I forgot our keys. So I went over to Fisherman's Cove got the key from Remon and headed back.

Just as I reached the quarters I felt my left leg on air. Next thing I knew, I fell into a drain. One leg in one leg out. I would have broken the damn leg if I didnt use my hands to stop me from falling forward.

Screamed for help as I got out, Leon came immediately. I still remember the pain, the unbearable burning pain. Nick, Ho Kun, Ivan and Leon carried me to the chair outside the quarters. As they cleaned the would the pain was getting more and more unbearable. I just felt like dying.

Today, after a check up by a specialist and an xray, apparently I suffered from a minor hair-line fracture from the fall. Man it sucks to be me.

Painkillers are kicking in. I want to sleep. Nights

Funky Dreams

It's not once but quite a number of times; I've been having some really interesting dreams while here at Pangkor.

Interesting yet, hard to remember. I'm only able to remember fragments of it and from that I can just add up how peculiar the dream is.

Some had me talking to people I don't know but in somewhat in the resort background, not talking about anything, but something really important. It seemed important. There must be a hidden meaning to it. I just wonder what it is.

Most recent one I had is in the afternoon; I took a nap and dreamt that my parents and my younger brother were here on the resort and were about to head out to the Emerald Bay. After sending them off, I could see a tornado heading to the resort from the main island. Tried calling my parents but my phone was somehow in pieces.

Later on the dream felt like real because I was in the resort but leaning on my dad's Volvo. I'm wondering to myself how the heck did the car get here. Yes, I was thinking in my sleep. I mean really thinking logically.

It's a first time for me because I realised that when I start thinking logically in my sleep, the situation, layout and are suddenly change and I cant remember what I'm thinking about.

From what I can conclude, the part about family in my dreams could be due to homesickness. Funny, I don't feel homesick. I remember having dreams like that when I went for National Service.

As for the dreams getting more and more funkier; I think it's the power naps I'm taking

It's All Relative, It's All Understood

Well, I'm going back to my roots on this one.

This is mainly for my mum

Recently my mum asked me to pick a laptop on the Dell website. Being me, when my parents ask me to choose what I want when they pay for it, I always pick the cheapest thing.

I feel we come from a lower middle class family and I hate to be a burden to my parents. Especially to my mum. She works hard and never complains. Okay maybe a few times on how we don't help out with the chores, but she's entitled to that.

So about the laptop, I picked a cheap one and she told me to get a better one as it would be good for the long run. I don't know but I just feel guilty about it. A part of me wanted to tell her that I don't need it if she needed to fork out the amount that was needed for the better model.

Since my early teenage life, I know my parents have it hard and I try to ease their burden by getting a part time job during my holidays to pay for my daily needs. I just hate the I idea that I have to be a burden to my parents. I feel bad, I feel guilty.

Yes there are times I have misunderstandings with them, especially my mum. All this while we'd get into a heated exchange of words. It's only recently I realised that how much she's done for the three of us.

My sister and her University fees, plane tickets, allowance and her usual needs. I feel she cant seem to understand the situation that she's putting mum and dad in.

My brother, the somewhat spoilt on in the family. He too does not realise the burden he's giving them.

My parents too play a part in this. I noticed, we would want something, if it's really not necessary they'd say no. But we'd somehow make them feel guilty about not getting it for us and they ending working hard just so we're happy.

Very self centred of us isn't it. I somehow hate myself for all the burdens I've given my parents... Especially you Amma

What's Up With That?

Been actually studying lately and mind you I've actually learned some things and find certain subjects easier.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular, it's just me thinking out, why are people sensitive? I've changed myself to adapt to sensitive people, not to get on their bad side. But in spite of that, there seems to be more nonsense popping up.

I somewhat feel upset about Remon's case. Not upset for him but at him. I think I've told you before, bro; just tell me.

But lately, you too have changed, reason why I don't ask you is because you shrug off my question and say you are okay. Mon, you are not a good liar.

I guess its the season where everyone is disappointing one another eh?

I know I'm disappointed with Aiman.

You are too thick headed, persistent and stupid. Missing practical classes? Really dude?

Honestly, I wont be surprised if I don't see you in class next term

Opening Up

This is gonna be an interesting post. I'm gonna talk bout me feelings.

Old ones to be exact.

So was talking to an old crush recently, after talking to her I went to sleep as it was late. As I laid on my pillow, I was thinking of that past. Thinking about her.

Since kindergarten, I had a crush on her, but frankly, I didn't know what was a crush and I was like "eww girls!"

I was WAY too shy to talk to her, that and all my friends would have teased me if I did so. I always saw her, I can't remember who she would hang out with. But I realized that every time I see her, I looked at her, she always had a smile on her face. She just had one of those cheerful faces. A face that could just light up your day.

It was like a secret crush. I never admitted it to anyone, a secret I kept till now I guess.

I remember when I was 10; it was the end of the year and I was going to my new class for next year. Looked at the name list like everyone else. Saw my name and started looking for my friends names and I stumbled upon her name. I think my heart skipped.

I was actually looking forward to talking to her. Actually saying something to her. Heck, I don't think she's ever said my name.

January 3rd 2002, I went to class. I picked my seat, sat beside another buddy. I waited for her, waited. But she never came. I didn't think much of it. I just thought she's still in a holiday mood or still in a holiday or worst, she's feeling under the weather.

One week passed and I couldn't wait. I and to one of her friends and asked. She had moved, migrated to a different country. My heart sank.

Back to the future

Here we are. I totally forgotten bout her till my friend showed me her Facebook profile. I hesitated to request a friend request thingy. Lot of things ran through my head;

Does she remember me?
Would she think I'm some stalker?
SHE HAS NEVER SPOKEN TO ME AND YOU WANT TO ADD HER AS A FRIEND? BRILLIANT!

I did, she accepted. We spoke, that's that.

If you know who she is, please do me a favor and keep it to yourself, please don't say who or point fingers at the chatbox. If you are really curious, MSN or Facebook or something

I Hate Jams, But Peanut Butter & Jam Is Okay

I 've leaving college early, I love avoiding the Taylors jam, the jam we have within the college itself...

But after that, on the Federal highway, you just get sucked in to this sea of cars. And you are only gonna get out of it two hours later.

Yesterday that's exactly what happened. I usually turn out at PJ and avoid the whole jam at Federal highway but on this Friday, the jam was seriously bad. I turn into PJ to be stuck at another jam. Took a turn into the industrial area. Got stuck there in another jam.

I said to myself
screw it. I can't avoid it

I parked the car at the side of the road, I put down the windows abit and turned of the engine. Moved to the passenger's seat and took at nap. Put my alarm for 8pm when the roads will be clear due to everyone breaking fast. Worked like a charm. Next time, I'm just gonna stay in college till 8pm.

Something is missing, I dont know what, but it just is

Mediocre Bad Guys

I love sports. Why the major affection towards sports? As you all know with all the crap happening to me and stress build up only three things calm me down.

1. Guitar (till a certain point I get sick of it because I'm not improving)
2. "Calm Me Down" Playlist (nothing but Jack Johnson's Best)
3. Sports

In the noon I was really stressed, breathing heavily (abit I realised when I'm stressed) and cursing to kingdom come. But from 7.30pm till 10.30pm everything disappeared. I felt soo relaxed. I didnt feel an ounce of stress and I wasn't thinking about any worries in the world.

It Came From Langkawi Part 1

First up I'd like to congratulate myself for this is my 200th post for Thoughts Of The Illogic. Where did the time and posts go?

Anywhoots, It's finally here, part one of a four part (I think)

This post is JUST for the first day...
A little note, 90% of this pictures are candid and not posed. Dunno why I felt like saying that. Don't like it? TOO BAD LA! YOU GO LANGKAWI THEN TAKE PICTURES YOU WANT!! Pfftt... people these days....

Remon And That "I Want A Blow Job" Face

Took This Pic Of Frans, Seriously Like Some Album Of A K-Pop Album
FYI, he wasn't posing. Heck he didn't even know the picture was taken till later that day

I was full of excitement, this is gonna sound so gay, but I was excited because this was gonna be my first time on a plane. My first time flying. Arika said I looked like some Backstreet Boy, or was that me who said it.... should have updated earlier

Don't think I'd forget this plane, as this plane was the first plane which I've flown in. The feeling when we took off. I was like a little girl... literally. Airbus A320

Alien Fingers

TERRORIST!!

So after the 45 minute flight from the LCCT to Langkawi airport, we took at cab to our motel.

Proud to be "Budget" Dutch

Most of us felt abit tired and the rest such as Remon and myself wanted to show our colors and a fine job we did, summore 2 for 30 bucks... I call it a bargain!

So as usual, the guys are done changing and what not and standing outside for a good 20 minutes while the girls powder their noses. We were wondering whether we should go for the Sunset cruise, because it had just rained, it wouldnt have been safe

But lucky us the skies cleared up and off we headed for the Sunset Cruise. Imagine, RM50 got us buffet style food, free flow alcohol and treatment rightful for a king. I kept telling myself it saying this trip was a day trip and Sunset Cruise was the only thing we were doing, it would be soo damn worth it.

The yacht was really chilling and the music too. The highlight of this picture? Remon's face. He seemed to have that face everytime he had a glass with him

This would have been the highlights of the cruise. Shark feeding as the crew member called it. They layout this net behind the boat and cruise at a low speed and we get on the nets and hang on. Seriously the feeling was awesome, and to top it off

Sir Can I Get You A Beer To Drink?

Never did beer taste soo good. It was the beer of relaxation, everything tasted better.

By the looks of our faces you can see how much we enjoyed the damn cruise. Mani and Frans tak boleh belah, acting poyo looking here and there.

Mani just didn't like this picture. To me it was like some body sculpting ad, from left, before, in thee middle, during and on the right, after.

Mani says give him 6 months and he'll have packs too... I plan to make mine more obvious by then.

This has to be one of the most awesome-est pictures of the trip. He has this model/porn star look

All you can eat buffet and the food was *MOUTH WATERING!!*

It can't be called a Sunset Cruise with out a sunset right? Well on that day there wasn't much of a sunset either but the lighting and the scenery was to die for. Thank dog for my awesome photography skill that kills and makes you spill near the window sill that I just drilled... lame I know

THAT PRETTY MUCH CONCLUDES PART 1 OF LANGGA FREAKING WHEEE
But For Part 1 These Are The Pictures Of The Day

Seriously, what would we do without Frans, I sure as hell know I miss him now

WHAT THE FLOWER!!

By far the most commonly used word in the kitchen. I was put in kitchen for 3 days this week. First day doing Salads and Nachos and the next two days doing Flatop. In English means doing burgers.

The experience in the kitchen is beyond explanation, the kitchen staff at night is all guys because Chilli's dont allow girls to work after 10pm. So these guys all welcomed me like I've been working there.

First day in the kitchen I was quiet but after that, all hell broke loose.

Yesterday Amir, one of the 5 outlet's managers ajaked me to come lepak with them after work, which was 1am. I was like okay. Mamaked till about 4am and got home.

Amir told me that the Chilli's staff play futsal once in awhile and I've been invited for the next outing. YAY!

Gonna watch a movie with the colleagues tomorrow, PRINCE OF FLOWERING PERSIA!

Today was a really busy mainly because it was Wesak Day.

I was in Lounge and I had this one table. 3 girls. First thing one of them asked me when they sat down was

May I Please Have The Comment Card?

I explained that we dont do that anymore and use an online system. So while serving them I noticed one of them looking at me. If a customer looks at you, it usually means they want something so I went up and asked her if there was anything.

She politely said no and started to giggle. Some reason I felt like a mixture of an idiot and embarrassment.

Later one of them wanted to ask me a "personal" question, my age. I told her and she nodded.

So they paid and left. 20 minutes later Layla, one of the other managers, comes and tell me that those girls called up and complimented on my service and attentiveness. Layla was shocked and so was I.

Abit regretful I Feel... One of them was really cute, the one who asked my age.

ONLY AFTER THEY LEFT I THOUGHT OF A PICK UP LINE!! FML!!

The pick up line

Can I ask you a personal question?
Err... sure
How old are you?
19? Can I ask you a personal question?
I guess?
Can I have your phone number?

Her, Me

What the flower la

Life Is Easier Said Than Done

Lots of drama at work and I'm neutral in the main one. I feel both sides are at fault but who cares for my opinion.

Working in the F&B line made me appreciate waiters a whole lot more. They have one of the few jobs that requires alot of thick skin.

Here are a few examples.

Chilli's policy says that customers cant share a bottomless drink. It's one drink to one person. It even clearly stated at the beverages part of the menu. Yet, people still stubbornly share drinks.

I honestly hate dealing with teenagers, people my age and slightly older. Why? because they REALLY treat waiters like crap. Where else older customers and familial customers are 98% great people. People you can talk to and joke around.

What is the relevance of the both?

A few days ago I got a big pax table. Full of people around my age and lala. Yes, lala. Not to be racist or anything, I dont give double standard to ANYONE but lala teenagers are the ones I really don't like serving. They give the LEAST respect and so.

So they sit and they order. 7 pax, 7 separate meals but only 3 drinks. 3 milo's to be frank. If we suspect a customer is sharing drinks we inform the Floor Manager, on that day was Mr. Sharom, he told me to keep an eye out and if they still share inform him.

Sure enough they did and I informed Mr. Sharom.

He goes over and informs them, one of the guest gets pissed and stands up, I hear him saying

"It's Only Milo, What Is So Wrong About Sharing"

In spite of getting grilled by them, Mr. Sharom kept a cool head. He told them what needed to be told then he left. 5 minutes later they leave to.

I somehow felt guilty for putting Mr. Sharom in that position but there was something to be learned there for all hospitality students.

Stay Calm, Dont Raise Your Voice, Don't Seem Threatening

I can say I've learned quite abit from the managers. Mr. Amir is my favorite, serious as he maybe he know when it is time for jokes. On Saturday he passed me a plate of Buffalo Burger Bites during my break and told me to eat with Frans.

These words that he said to me just stayed on to me. Might not mean much to you guys but it meant quite a bit to me

Don't Matter About Race, Colour, Attitude And Whatever Else, Treat All Of Them Like Family, If Were Being An Asshole Before They'd Regret It Coz It Didn't Work On You

Hafeez also gave some words of wisdom. But I guess I've been following it for quite some time

Stand Out Make Em Notice

I wish I Had Friends LiKe Hafeez And Amir

Change Of Heart?

From what I can see everyone seems to be one way or another starting to enjoy their training. Reading Remon's blog after quite awhile, keep laughing at all the nonsense that goes around with him.

As for Chilli's?

Yesterday I was working inside and Frans was at the patio. Layla, one of the managers comes to me and says;

Eh, Frans looks like that superhero.... that Japanese one...
Ultraman?
YESSSS ULTRAMAN!!!!

Then she walked off, he looked at me and I did that ultraman pose. He replied with some indian dance and dancing around an imaginary tree.

Really enjoying work and seriously am planning to do part time after training to make some extra income

So we hav 3 birthday's to talk about today.

The Gamble

Why do it?

Why are people stupid enough to take their own life to prove they love someone?

Why is it people are fucked up?

Why?

From what I can gather these people do it to prove a point, a point such as they love someone soo much that they are willing to give their life to be with that someone.

Hold on idiot, let's think about that first. What do you get out of killing yourself over some girl/guy?

What The Love Struck Fool Would Think
1. I'll make that person regret not loving me back
2. Make everyone feel sorry for me
3. Haunt her/him
4. By doing so people will remember you forever

You get the idea

What I Think
1. You're an idiot to kill yourself for someone who doesnt think you are good enough
2. You're an idiot for the pain and suffering you "happily" give you family and especially your parents
3. You're an idiot for thinking people will remember forever, a year or two and most people would have forgotten you
4. You're an idiot for trying to get sympathy
5. You're an idiot for thinking you can haunt someone

Come one get real, there is about 6 billion people in the world. Just because one girl doesn't like you doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

The worst thing you can do is after realizing that you and him/her aren't made to be you just stay at home and emo. Let it out, talk to friends you can trust you'll feel a whole lot better.

I had to learn that the hard way. My issue is always about trust and who I trust and shit like that. It's safe to say, I trust more people now days.

Please Think About Your Parents Before You Think About The Gamble, Don't Let Them Down, Don't Let Yourself Down

If anyone needs someone to talk to I'm just a phone call away

Black Plastic

If you ever wondered what my titles mean, its usually random words I hear in lyrics as I'm blogging, music goes well with blogging. Heck music goes well with everything.

Second day of work and I've met my manager, Jaz. Average height, well built man and somehow looks scary. But then again, somehow he reminds me of well... me.

Don't ask me how but he just does. I think I got the hang of things there and I don't feel as tired as I did on the first day.

This is a short one =) I'm starting to enjoy work
